Saturday

begins a family week at Seaside Oregon. We have rented two three bedroom Condos which will accommodate a total of 16 people. We have them from Saturday, August 8 to Saturday August 16. During that week all 33 of our family members will visit at some time. We will not all be there at the same time, but we will all be able to spend a few nights there. It will be fun to see how the four of us Kris, Tricia, Gina and I report on our week. The perspective from each of us should make for an interesting read.
Seaside is where Lewis and Clark completed their trip to the West Coast. There is much history in the area and I am excited to see it all.
This weekend they are hosting a volleyball tournament. There will be thousands of people there. I will enjoy seeing all of the people. My husband does not do well with crowds, so we will see how he manages.
Will tell you all about it next Saturday or Sunday.

I envy you. We went to the Oregon coast last year and had a wonderful time, but can't make it work with our schedules this year.

Have fun! I'm sure DH can find a place somewhere to avoid the crowds.

I absolutely LOVE the Oregon Coast! I used to travel to PDX for business and snuck away to the coast as often as I could. You're fortunate to able to get away there.

My kids, my mom, and I very recently watched a video in St. Charles, MO, about the westward travels of Lewis and Clark. We have a statue there quite like the one in your photo.

And reading of the accidental shooting, my first thoughts went out to the young boy. Only 14. he has his entire life ahead of him to come to terms with such a tragic accident. I do pray for them, Gramma. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain.

Please enjoy your vacation. I'm enjoying the view from your photo.
(It doesn't look like the place they showed us in the movie. Odd. It's all commercialized with glitzy buildings now. I guess the Northwestern Native American Indians didn't have those things back when. Go figure.)

OK, just to comment overload you, I have NO idea why that posted twice. Wouldn't it be funny if this one did too?

Maybe not.

We were there in Seaside Oregon 1st week of Sept last year, too! We stayed in Shilo Inn to the left of this photo.

Beautiful place but weather was not very good when we went.
