Fairies, NOT Angels!

Tonight started out innocent enough. Sis and I were having dinner in the garden.

The neighbor boys came out and asked if they could join us.

So we moved the table to the common area of Evy's yard.

Then more neighbors came out and joined us.

And then a few more. Everyone brought food, and we were having a good old time.

Someone brought beers... And then the hard stuff came out!

Every one was feeling pretty good.

One of the guys ran home and got his guitar, so we all started singing.

Some better than others!

And some worse than others! By the end of the evening, everyone was feeling pretty happy.
BUT THEN....
...
...
...
...
I think it is time for this party to end.
Don't worry, Evy we will have it all cleaned up before you get home.
Drive safe, and this time, watch out for these!

COUCH IN THE ROAD!

We stayed at home today

As we said, we stayed home today. Our to do list was very long, and it was a nice day to work outside. First, we painted the house.
I wanted purple and blue, sissy wanted pink and yellow, since we could not agree, we bought them all. Do you like the way they look together? Once we finished the painting, we washed the car. I had purchased some roses earlier this week, so I got them potted and put them by the front walk. I love the way they match the house!
We also managed to get some laundry done today. Since it was such a nice day, we chose to hang it outside rather than run the dryer. I love the way laundry dried in the sun smells.

With all the chores finished we finally had time to sit and enjoy a cup of tea. We were just finishing our tea and discussing what we would like to do tomorrow, when we looked across the yard to see...THIS!

New Neighbors!
We had been so busy today that we hadn't even noticed the furniture delivery truck.

Watching for a few minutes, we finally figured out that there are two men moving in directly next door to us. (Sissy thinks this one is cute!)

I guess tomorrow we will go introduce ourselves.

After all, it is the neighborly thing to do!

Speaking of furniture delivery trucks, "COUCH IN THE ROAD!"
Good night, see you in the morning!

Continuing our "StayCation"

On Our way home from the beach, Sissy and I decided to stop at the park to play. It was such a glorious day, and we didn't know when we would ever get the chance again.
It took us a long time to climb those stairs, but all the children were doing it, so it must be worth it! This little boy almost stepped on us both times he passed us on the stairs.

Once we reached the bottom, sissy was afraid to jump off. The next child to come down the tube actually knocked her into the dirt. I will never hear the end of this..."My best dress...You know I don't like to go fast...etc. etc."

The people in the park all go to the same church, and were having some kind of party, so they invited us to join in. We tried the food. It was called PIZZA, and it was GRAND!

I cant BELIEVE we ate that whole thing! We had never had this kind of food at Evy's house. Sure, her grandchildren were always dropping food, but never this kind.

I thought Pizza was good, but once we had one of these, there is simply nothing better in the world! We tried all three flavors. Sissy liked the chocolate chip cookies, but I liked the oatmeal raisin.
Since It was still early, we thought we would try a few other things that everyone els was doing.
This thing was very popular, but we could not manage to make it work!

After Pizza and Cookies we were very thirsty. One of us (Me) had to jump on the button to get it to work, while the other (sissy) seemed to get all the benefits. Well, she also got very wet too!
(hee hee)
I think Sissy got the worst of it since she was still wet. These guys sure were friendly though.

When we left the park, we saw this place was still open, so after the water fountain fiasco, we decided to buy some lemonade.
Now it is back to the garden for us. Maybe tomorrow we will sleep in and fix up the house.
Evy may be at the happiest place on earth, but this place was nice too.

Our little "StayCation"

While Evy, Her daughter and some of those pesky little children are away in California, we decided to show you what we are doing on our little "StayCation"

My sis and I went to the beach today. It was sunny and 75* with a little breeze. Just perfect!

Sissy took a little swim. I am not a good swimmer, so I stayed on the beach. I brought a good book to read and my sunblock, so I am happy.

Here is my sis in her sunglasses. She thinks she is so cool!

My favorite flip-flops.

We went hunting for seashells, and this is what we found. See the one under the blanket? She is trying to hide it from me because I found it, but she got to it faster and claimed "Finders Keepers".
Now she is just rubbing it in!

Speaking of rubbing it in, it is time for more sunblock.

So, Maybe you are lucky enough to be taking a real vacation like Evy, and maybe you are just enjoying your home town like my sis and I, but we would love to hear what you are doing this summer. We will be filling you in on more of our "StayCation" tomorrow.

I'm Off

No not in the head!! I am headed to the happiest place on earth for a few days. If you read my profile, you learned that I take my grandchildren for their seventh birthday. Sometimes one has to wait for another to be seven before they go. Today Elizabeth, Abby, their mommy Gina, and I are heading out. We will only drive as far as Portland Oregon tonight. Tomorrow we will do some serious driving so we can make it to San Francisco and stay with a friend for the night. Frizzy, we will call when we are close to your town so we can do Red Robbin...........yummmmm.

From San Francisco I am thinking about going down the coast highway so we can play along the beach. We cannot check into our Condo in L.A. until after 4PM so there is no real hurry to get there.

Julie, we will be calling you too for dinner at our place.

I hope the world does not fall to pieces while I am away and not able to give you my take on everything.

See you after the 10th, if I do not get access to a computer.
