It doesn't happen very often

But this morning I found myself without children and not needing to go to Mother's so I went for a ride. First I headed north to Mt Vernon, which is the next town directly north of me. I needed to get some more yarn for a special order. When I headed home, I opted not to take the freeway and instead headed home through the Skagit Valley farmlands.
One sure sign of spring in our area is the return of the geese. This field was just covered with them, almost as far as the eye could see. I sort of pity the home adjacent to the field because the noise was deafening.
Another sign of spring is our daffodils. There are acres and acres of them in bloom.
I had heard that the tulips were showing color also, which was the reason I opted to come home cross country. I did not see any fields with tulips so next time I will have to take a different road. We are world famous for the daffodils and tulips grown in the Skagit Valley.
As I was taking pictures of the daffodils, I turned and looked into another field and saw these abandoned farm implements. I could not resist taking a picture of them also.
All in all, I think it was a great way to spend a morning. All by myself and doing something I truly enjoy. Driving with my camera beside me.
Now it is time to go get Olivia from school.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Gorgeous pictures. I guess we will be having an early tulip season this year, Do you think I can get my boys for another trip in for their annual picture?

I'm betting the folks that live next to that field of geese had to deal with more than just the noise. Holy goose poop, Batman!

Hey, we'd like to feature you next Friday on BlogTrotting! Can you have a post ready?
