It has been one year

Since I made the trip of my lifetime to Africa. I came home with many plans of what to do to help. But then life happened. My mother became ill, grandchildren needed babysat and on and on. I have done nothing to help. I feel totally impotent as to what I am suppose to do.

This week I got word that my dear friend Pastor Mwenebalongo, in the first picture, was wondering if we would really build a church for him and his faithful. The second picture is where they worship (and I do mean worship) currently. It is a carport with tarps strung above it to protect them from the elements. Rain or shine they are there.

I have been thinking and trying to make excuses for my lack of action, but can come up with none. I know we are experiencing a recession and we do not have much in the way of disposable income, but they have even less. I am thinking if any of my readership would care to, they could donate to the project. I do not care how much you give $1.00 or $100.00 it will all be counted.

Donations can be made to Warm Beach Free Methodist Church with a notation on the bottom to go to the African Refugee Team, Pastor Mwene. I will tell Pastor Pat to keep an eye open for them. The address is Warm Beach Free Methodist Church 20815 Marine Dr, Stanwood Wa.

You do not even have to tell me you donated.

If any of you have any other ideas as to how I can raise money for Pastor Mwene and his church, please send me a note, either comment or by e-mail @ All help will be appreciated.

I am going to put a connection on my sidebar, and perhaps you would be so kind as to do the same on your blog, maybe in this time of great need, we can turn as a family to help someone who needs more than we do.

Thanks to all of you and God Bless you every one

I truly do love my blog family and friends.

I can't believe it's been a year. It seemed to fly by so quickly. I would love to send something! Kids are sick, so I probably won't get to the post office until tomorrow, but you can count on me!

How is your mother, by the way?

Now wait just one big fat momnent! Have you not prayed for them? Have you not requested prayers for them? YES!! That is the most powerful thing you can do. You know as well as I everything has a season. Your place was with your Mom and family. NOW you are in a place to start action & BE the living water. Just think if you had tried to juggle it all in the past would have flopped. Now (it seems) is the time God has placed this in your heart to take action. I don't mean to sound harsh, but give yourself some breathing room you've had a lot going on. Off to look for thie link

Evy, would it be possible for you to put a donate button on your blog? I for one would love to help out, but with my being in Oz and all, actual donations are awfully hard to do.
With a donate button (you can have paypal as well) I (and anyone else from out of the area) could simply donate with a click of a button.

God bless you for what you're doing and I agree with Katidids. Prayer is the most powerful thing we can do... so you certainly haven't let anyone down!

A year already! And ditto on what others have said about prayer. It is the most powerful. I don't know if in this econmics this suggestion would work but when our daughter's orphanage lost everything due to the civil war there, we had a garage sale, got everyone that could donate "stuff" to sell and advertised the sale as all proceeds going to the orphanage. People not even from our church donated and we took in over $1200 for the orphanage. Just a thought.

Thanks for the encouragement, one and all. Deb, garage sale season is over, but maybe we could do something in the Church hall. Have to talk to Pastor Pat about that one.

Those of us that craft could make some items to sell or auction. If it is by sale, we could set up a shop on or an austion would be pretty easy to do via blog....If you want to hash this out, give me a call... <3
