Are we happy yet?

Todays news says "O" has capped CEO salaries. Yes for all of you who have class envy that is a good thing. Yes he has done it only to those businesses who have accepted the "bailout." I agree if you cannot pay your employees, maybe you should take a pay cut. But let us look a little deeper. We are marching down the road to Socialism. Pure and simple.
so·cial·ism
Pronunciation:
\ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\
Function:
noun
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2 a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

If government would excuse themselves from the private sector, it would adjust itself. If a few businesses went belly up, others would step in and fill the void. The ones who prevail will be the ones who of their own accord tighten their belts and make concessions for the good of their company. It is called Capitalism.

cap·i·tal·ism
Pronunciation:
\ˈka-pə-tə-ˌliz-əm, ˈkap-tə-, British also kə-ˈpi-tə-\
Function:
noun: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market
For everyone who wants to give him a chance. I can only say, Germany gave Hitler a chance also. How far do you want to go?

Oooh OUCH! I hear where you're coming from but I worry you may get some nasty comments for that last comment.
Here's my thought on all of the bailouts and "government assistance." By the way, none of that assistance seems to be coming my way and all because I'm honest and pay my bills on time. Doesn't matter that I may not be able to pay my morgage on a house I no longer live in and can't sell thanks to the housing market crash.

What happened to the old addage,
"You made your bed now lay in it?"

I guess it only applies to honest and upstanding people not those who don't pay taxes and hold corporate or Govt. positions.

Sweetie, I am old and my skin is fairly thick. Let them roll. Did not say he was Hitler, just said we are traveling down the same road. Time will tell.
The redeeming thing is that each day brings us one day closer to the Lord's return.

In any event, I'm sure all you are saying is that in our country some folks are greedy and if it means they have to tighten their own belts they have the freedom to do so themselves - not mandated and enforced by the government. Obama freakin' scares me to death!

LOL! I wish I had thick skin. It's as thin as can be and can tear really easy. Sad but true. Glad to know you're tough. I know you didn't mean any harm by what you wrote and it didn't offend me. By the way, I didn't go after the woman who snuck into the corner of my picture. I'm too much of a chicken for that. I just grumble about it is all. ;)

Trish, I am sorry. I really thought about posting anything else today, but I just had to get this one off of my chest. You know me. I am so happy to finally have a soap box.
Happy Birthday, darling, I love you so much. You have been such a delight in my life.

So I forgot my login and password for my account here so I am anonymous for now.

Hi Aunty Eve,
I love this blog and even though I don’t completely agree with everything you agree with, I always want your opinion and wisdom because I know that you speak from your heart and you are a wise woman. I didn’t vote for Obama either and I don’t know what's going to happen with him being in the white house, but I have to hope for the best and I am praying for him. He may be the worst person in the world to be the president but, like you said - only time will tell.

Here's my way of thinking; God is in control and even though the American Government didn’t ask for his vote, God never asked the American Government what they wanted. God chose and He knew before hand that Obama was going to get the vote, so for now; I am going to be ok with that. There are a few people in the bible who were chosen to fail: Saul, the old king of Israel, God knew he would fail as king before he was even chosen to be king. Judas, another one who sat and ate with our savior Jesus Christ at dinner and Jesus said that the one who dips his bread with me is the one who will betray me. Jesus knew before Judas even betrayed him that he would be the one to betray him. So we just have to know that God has a plan that’s bigger and better than we even hope for. I love you very much and don’t worry God will keep us, just believe. Much love Aunty Eve.

Yep my darling, I know so very well that our God is soverign and he has a BIG plan for us. It does not mean that I have to kiss the feet of the big "O".
I also know your intentions are pure and in many ways you are a much better woman than I. I cannot in any way shape or form respect the man. It does not mean that I do not respect the office but I will not bow down before the alter of O.

well, gramma, did you know Smart Nancy says 500 million Americans will lose their jobs PER MONTH if we don't push the "recovery package" (love that one) through by President's Day?

Wow. That really IS frightening.
Particularly considering the US Census Bureau states that by 3AM TOMORROW, our population may hit

305,750,691

If that's just too many zeros Smart Nancy, that's just 305 million people alive in our country tomorrow morning.

But then, who's counting.
Oh wait - they are.

Yes I do. I commented on another blog to that interesting fact.
