The first confirmed
death from Swine Flu was announced today. A toddler in Texas. My prayers and thoughts to the family. However, thousands of people die every year from flu related symptoms. Why is there a concerted effort to cause panic among the population now? To push Socialized Medicine? Or..........is it to take our minds from other things, a cover up? Conspiracy?

I totally agree with you...I keep reassuring my niece and nephew that this is really no different than regular influenza, it's just that the media is continuing to make it the top story...
The media needs to be shut down. This story is a little over the top.
I concur as well; this is a little too much. And we all know that stress allows illnesses and diseases to enter our bodies a little easier. Kudos to our government for stressing everyone out...
Actually the 23 month old toddler was a citizen from Mexico who was visiting someone in the Houston area, so actually this fatality was yet another Mexican citizen, (not an American citizen) who died in the U.S.A.
But I agree the media is having a field day.... I wonder WHY?
I've been curious why this has been getting such attention/hysteria myself. It's certainly not a good thing, but I haven't heard anything to indicate that there's some world-changing threat.
I am so done with the alarmist media!
Swine flu?
Media?
What's that?
I have no idea what's going on below the arctic circle.
It's kind of nice.
Except that the president just past his 100 days and his report card sucked, was that covered at all in the media?

i agree with this too - and i'm sure my dh moreso! you can't trust what he and his groupies would or wouldn't do!
I do think that the media is totally out of control, however, a conspiracy or cover up? Come on and quit being so alarmist in the opposite direction. I am quite a righty myself however, it is possible to read too much into things. I have no doubt that God will take care of business.
God will take care of business, but we are expected to be vigilant.
I am not an alarmist at all. We can all sit in the pot of water whilst they keep turning up the heat, or we can question and make decisions on our own without being led by the nose by the elite of the world.
If people would wash their hands more, not go to work when they're sick, cover their nose and mouth when they sneeze and cough, then maybe flus, colds, etc., wouldn't be such a problem!
OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.
It just goes along with the time we are living in. Anything bad makes "good "news to the media & most of the "world " but not one word about all the good someone is doing.
Nor ...about how God is our provider IF we trust in him & follow his ways & instructions...
Even so come , Lord Jesus.
Amen, Elsie. I need people like you and my David to ground me at times. Still have to say what is on my mind though.
I think you would have to fight with Alysa for it.
