I fired my mother's

Doctor today. She is the most inept person I have ever met. I am convinced my mother would be dead today if she did not have a network of family looking out for her and monitoring her daily. Two weeks ago we took her to the "Primary Care Physician" because we thought she had a UTI. Two weeks later we still have NOT received the results of said test. On Saturday night my brother had to have her transported to the hospital because she was in so much pain she could not tolerate it any longer. Can you guess what is wrong? It starts with U and ends with I. I have been wanting to fire her earlier for other stupid uncaring things she had done, but this was the one that took the cake. Of course my darling mother is totally confused about what will happen to her now that she does not have a Dr. I told her she will definitely live much longer than if she continues under this woman's care.
It snowed here today. This as many of you know is the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound region. It does not snow here!!! Any way not like it has this Winter. I was a bit worried about making the 45 minute drive home from my mothers house because I do not drive on the freeway to get home. I drive on a two lane highway. Fortunately the road was bare. There is snow along the sides of the road, but the road was fine. The next two nights are suppose to be among the coldest of the Winter season for our area. I am so ready for Spring and Summer.
Stan and I went to Vancouver Washington this weekend. Our daughter Tricia is preparing to move to Kotzebue Alaska at the end of this month. We had to go have birthday time with Ben and spend some time with her before she goes. I plan to go back on Friday and come home on Sunday. She is suppose to have everything packed and shipped by this weekend. I do not know how she is going to make it. She says she can do it.
Oh, by the way, my next post is #200!! Am trying to think of a great give away. I think I have come up with one so you better be watching close for that post. Do not know when I will have time to do it, but it is coming. So be prepared!!

I have heard of incompetent drs before but your moms definetly took the cake.I hope you fired her in front of others.2 weeks and not hearing a word is unheard of. Maybe she should get reported to the medical board.I hope your mom is doing better now.I can recommended a great urologist, he is in MtVernon. he is really good! Dr.Winston Jones. I will continue to pray for her, and for Trish and her family. Prayers for you too.

I'm sure you have/will but I would be sure to notify the hosp. & Sr. Doc in which ever group which she "practices". Also the ins co. After so many complaints they (ins co.) will drop them. You prob. are not the only ones having problems with her. 2 wks the office staff should have been checking. Wish I could be a fly on the wall when that bill comes in! I'd sure be sending a detailed letter to the state medical board. Erika switched Dr.'s 2 months before Evelyn was born. She rec a copy of the ins billing for her last visit...$2,500. for a surgical procedure she did not have nor could she being prego! & that was before he knew she was switching drs!

I sure know what you mean about incompetent doctors. I had one last year with my broken wrist and had to seek the services of a second, and much better doctor.

I'm sorry your Mom is in so much pain. But I'm sure you'll find a good doctor soon.

*Hugs*

Thank God you switched. That dumdum couldn't diagnose an UTI and give her antibiotics on the spot? Wow. That's a pretty common thing - even 24 hour wait is obnoxious. Most UTI's are an in and out clinic visit with antibiotics given. Geesh!

Enjoy your time with your daughter! Moving to Alaska? Wow. Think of the cold. We were recently blessed with 65-70 degree weather and today the high is 40 - brrrrrrr!

That situation with the doctor is really unfortunate...but probably more common than we think. Thankfully your Mom has you and the rest of her family to keep an eye out for her!!! Praying for a speedy recovery!!!

My father is an MD and my Mom said never trust DR's always trust your gut. This has come in handy in my short life many times. I never trust a Dr. if I don't like what they have to say I just go see someone elso until I feel the answer is correct.

Only you know your body. Trust in yourself.

Your Mother and your family will be in my prayers as you try and find some good Dr's.

Good job! Looks like you've been given tons of great advice. I'll just continue to pray your mother finds relief from all of this. She's so very lucky to have such kind, caring and involved kids such as you all. Sadly, not everybody is so lucky.
